Studies on the Biological Characteristics of Lactobacillus

Abstract
In the mixed culture of E. coli strain- L 129, L 136, L 139, L144, L145, and G 1253 and E.coli:-ML 1410, Cpr, Apt, Tmr, and Smr gene is thought to be transferred from the former to the latter by conjugation.
The alctobacillus- cultural filtrates- L. acidophilus FM 4, L. casei FM 1, and L. lactis FM 3 - exhibited a considerable suppressive effect on the R palsmids transmission from the 6 strains of clinical isolates of E.coli to ML 1410.
In this experiment, we could observed the suppressive mechanisms of the palsmid gene transmission is not elimination or loss of the transfer gene but inhibition or blocking up of the mating system.
